Building a gratitude muscle is exactly like building a physical muscle.

QUICK & EASY BEGINNER”S GRATITUDE WORKOUT PLAN:
1. Steal your day with gratitude • before your feet hit the floor in the morning, STOP and say “thank you” for 3 things (ex. Your eyes that see, your ears that hear, your legs that stand up on their own, your children in the other room, your dog that is happy to see you, the bed that’s cozy and warm, or the hot water in your shower.)
2. Watch your mouth • and I’m not talking about cursing…. I’m talking about the (seemingly unimportant) negativity that comes out of your mouth. Some of the most powerful connections your brain makes are the ones coming from your mouth….. for example, things like: (you’re gonna be the death of me, I’m so far behind at work I’m gonna die catching up, I hate this messy house, my boss is from hell, etc.)
3. Change your diet • You can’t be happy when you’re continually putting in negative (any more than you can be fit while putting in junk food)….. You’re responsible for the things you allow into your brain. Watch out for what you listen to on the radio, your friends and family complaining, or the things you watch on TV.
